Mama Honey Badger

My sweet little Maylee :)! I vaguely remember now being concerned before she came about how another child would affect my feelings toward Keagan, towards her. Would I be able to love her as much? Would I still love Keagan as much? Will I favor one over the other despite my best efforts not to? Now I just smile and laugh about that! I’m the luckiest woman alive!!!

It has been such a peaceful day. I’m rather shocked that transition into being a mother of two is going this smoothly. Keagan and Maylee both are seeming to tolerate each other fine. Maylee is doing better on feeding thank goodness. Been sitting here in the recliner holding her while Keagan sits across the room watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It’s just so quiet! I know it won’t all be peaceful like this but it’s not nearly the mess I had dreamed it to be. Love being Mommy

We finally got home today with our baby girl!! I’ve not been on to post since finding out we were expecting our second as the last year has been a little insane to say the least. However, I am hoping to become more active again in the near future.

So without further interruption I present the newest honey badger in our little group: Maylee Lynn made her way into the world on Monday, March 4th. She weighed 8lbs 9ozs and was 18” long! We had a very rough delivery but I must say it was well worth it! Maylee’s older brother, Keagan, is absolutely smitten with her so far. Couldn’t be a happier Mama!!!

I Punish You with My Lack of Sleep

The Honey Badger is away at his Nana’s and naturally Mama Honey Badger thought “oh! I can get shut eye!”. Yeah…not so much. It appears he has me trained for sleepless nights. It has been a crazy couple of weeks for me and was so looking forward to a break. I suspect most mothers do this. You beg for peace, quiet and sleep and then hate it when you get it. I’m doing it wrong :)!

I’ve been pretty pumped lately about starting up a much more intense exercise routine. I’d purchased a fitbit in hopes of it pushing me to push myself hard. Which it has. Unfortunately walking doesn’t seem to get the results I’m looking for. So, I’ve joined a Zumba class! On the recommendation of a dear friend who threatened me into it :). About to start doing Jillian Michael’s body revolution exercise routine on my off days. Hoping that all of that plus the treadmill routine I already had going will knock the rest of this baby fat off! No more half assing it!

Other than all of that there isn’t much to tell. Staying overly busy with work as always. The Honey Badger is picking up new words at a dizzying rate, putting together sentences very well. He’ll be telling me off in plain English before I know it!
